In the railway sector, extruded aluminium plays a leading role, as it combines the reduction of weight and mechanical strength with the reduction of energy consumption and the reduction of CO₂ emissions into the atmosphere. This is possible thanks to the use of structural extrusions of high weight, large dimensions and lengths up to 30 metres, which can only be achieved with presses over 7,000 tons of power, machinery which METRA Industry has been using since 2001.
